Inaugural Meeting, Bogota

The Global Forum for National SDG Advisory Bodies will hold its inaugural meeting in Bogota between February 17 and 20 2020. The NFFT is also part of the forum that includes over 60 countries worldwide.

The initiative was launched by the German and the Finnish governments at the UN summit on sustainable development in New York in September 2019. The Global Forum aims to accelerate action on sustainable development at local and national levels through the collaboration of sustainability councils with decision makers, by supporting collective knowledge for the formulation of national sustainable development policies. The focus of the inaugural meeting is to identify the demands for SDG delivery and provide potential solutions and competencies that efficiently help the achievement of the sustainable development goals at national and international level. Countries attending the four-day forum will be able to present their national best practices for sustainable development by way of posters.  Hungary will present the Monitoring Reports related to the National Framework Strategy on Sustainable Development, the Ombudsman for Future Generations and the BCSDH. The meeting is organised by the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) and CEPEI (Centro de Pensamiento Estratégico Internacional). The NFFT is represented by its secretary, Gábor Bartus.
